Speech days, sports days, graduations, harvests and anniversaries often come with branded T‑shirts. Planned well, they look great in photos and bring people together. Planned late, they cause stress. Here is a simple plan.
1. Start early
Begin at least two to three weeks before the event. You need time to agree the design, collect sizes and money, and print. Large orders need more time.
2. Agree the design
- Front: logo and event name (for example "Founders' Day 2026").
- Back: theme, verse or motto, and the year.
- Sleeve (optional): a small logo or sponsor's name.
Keep text short and large. Small writing on T‑shirts is hard to read and costs more to print well.
3. Choose the shirt colour first
Your design colours must stand out on the shirt. Light designs work on dark shirts, dark designs on light shirts. Ask for a mock‑up picture before printing.
4. Collect sizes properly
Use a simple list or form with each person's name and size (for example S, M, L, XL, XXL, and children's sizes if needed). Order 5–10% extra in the most common sizes for latecomers and visitors.
5. Pick a printing method
- Screen printing: best for large quantities with one to three colours. Bright and long‑lasting.
- Heat transfer / DTF: good for smaller quantities and full‑colour designs, including photos.
- Sublimation: full colour that becomes part of the fabric, but it needs white or light polyester shirts.
6. Confirm before printing
Check spelling, the year, the logo and the size list. Once printing starts, changes are expensive.
7. Plan distribution
Pack by size or by class or group, with names. This saves hours on the day.
